"I had glorious roasted breast of pheasant (£16), pink, juicy and fat with flavour. Boozy red cabbage with just the right amount of crunch, tiny caramelised onions, creamy potato rosti with heavenly bits of bacon in it and a dark, glossy gravy completed a perfect picture. My friend was no less delighted with his canon of lamb (£18), the tender eye of the loin coated with a herby chestnut crust and served with a heap of almost indecently rich puy lentils. It was quite extraordinary meat, so lush and dense it would have made Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall weep with pleasure"

"The service was attentive from the time we were greeted until our departure. The atmosphere and style could be likened to a very upmarket, contemporary hotel restaurant. Just a short email to thank you and the staff of Carpe Diem.. The food and service we received on Thursday 13/12/07 was impeccable despite you all obviously being rushed off you feet..

My colleagues all rated the evening and are making plans to return in the future..

I have recommended you to a friends and I hopefully will be returning at the end of February to celebrate my birthday with you!!

We had a fantastic night out and it was a lovely opportunity for our management team to 'let their hair down'. "The food was superb, the service friendly and professional and the ambience relaxed and mellow - ideal for dining. I was most interested in learning about its holistic approach to all things ecological. As a doctor I was even more pleased by the approach t of using no or low fat transfats-based foods on the menu.
